felixthebrat asked: im fresh meat and our test is coming up soon. after the test we will begin scrimmaging. we have done faux-scrimmages, or "scrimmage drills" and i find it hard to multi-task as a blocker. can you give me advice? is my number one job blocking the opposing jammer? or is that only for a certain position? what about my #2 job? #3 job?

Injuries - Ice vs Heat?
Because of a nursing background I have been involved in a few roller derby injuries (not my own).
The most common argument/disagreement I have with people? When to ice and when to heat. Let’s get this cleared up…
Ice is the ONLY thing you should use on an acute injury.
Ice will reduce swelling and reduce blood flow to minimise bruising.
Ice should only be applied for 15 minutes...
